Kauai December 2011

We wanted to share with you a little of our recent trip to this magical Island. Everytime we are on the Island we are reminded of the spectacular beauty that is everywhere. One thing we never fail to do, is to enjoy the beautiful sunsets from the lanai of the St. Regis Hotel. I am fairly certain there are few places in the world that would compare. It is worth the visit.

You will also be invited to share in the blowing of the conch shell(blowing of the 'Pu')a tradition normally done just as the sun sets.

 

We also love to spend time on nearby Anini Beach. The snorkeling is very good.. The water is quite calm as a result of an outer reef. There is a small current which you need to be aware of.

 

On road 580 near Kapaa you can take a short drive to the Opaeka'a Falls lookout. The falls are 151 feet high and flow year round.

We have always wanted to stop and try a world famous burger at Duane'sOno-Char Burger located at 4-4350 Kuhio Hwy(located in Anahola). The food is good. We loved the marionberry shake. It on its on is worth the stop.
