Wow! This is the greatest place to stay. I will never stay anywhere else while in Kauai. Paul and Barb are amazing to work with and are so accommodating. They have thought of everything. I tried hard to think of what would make a stay there better and I honestly couldn't think of one thing. I love being on the Princeville part of the island and Nihalani is my favorite place in Princeville--so quiet, clean, relaxing, and peaceful. We loved riding the bikes they provide all around Princeville. They provide sumptuous beach towels, great snorkel gear, boogie boards and beach toys. Having a washer and dryer in the condo is so great. The pool is clean and inviting. We were the only ones there the majority of the time--day or evening. I am a clean freak and this place is clean to a perfection--not any nasty carpet stains, spider webs, smudgy fingerprints, etc.. I never saw one bug in the condo the whole time we were there--not even an ant. What a great place to come home to after a wonderful hike or day at the beach. I've been to Hawaii many times and this is by far my favorite place to stay.

Owner response:Thank you very much for your kind comments. Barb and I lok forward to seeing you again next year. Mahalo

Luxury in Paradise

Our family of 4 loved our stay in this luxurious, well-appointed and spacious condo in Princeville paradise. What I love about this place is that it felt and looked like home. Everything worked! The beds are very comfortable, the bedrrooms are spacious with a huge walk in closet at the master bedroom and the kitchen was well stocked with the functional utensils, pots and pans plus a complete spice rack (made for more delicious homecooking). All the appliances worked and were top notch. One rare find was the attached 2-car garage complete with beach accessories and even 2 bikes. The laundry room was another plus with a sink, lots of storage and full sized washer and dryer. The owner, Paul, was accommodating, pleasant, and even called on our day of arrival to make sure everything was okay. We will definitely stay here again next time and would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone who wants to experience luxury in paradise.

My husband and I have rented many condo's over the years and this one has to be one of the best. Very nicely decorated, well stocked and very clean. Great location for walks, beaches, stores etc.. We are currently looking at purchasing in Hawaii and noted all the right things this condo has to offer.

This condo is the perfect vacation rental! We were so happy to find out that it was even more beautiful in real life than it is in the photos. It's beautifully decorated, quiet, spacious and comfortable (amazing mattresses and comfy couches!). The owners have paid special attention to all the little details that help make for a super beach vacation...towels, snorkeling equipment, umbrellas, chairs, bicycles (huge plus), coolers, and even tupperware (mmm, fresh fruit salads for the beach)! We had an amazing stay here and look forward to coming back soon!

This luxurious condo, located in a quiet complex on the north end of Kauai, is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest! It is spacious, tastefully decorated and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need...and more! From beach towels to bicycles...it's all there!! The kitchen is very well-appointed and contains every tool imaginable to make the perfect meal for enjoyment on the beautiful lanai. The design is perfect for two couples, with a bedroom and bathroom on each end of the space. It is immaculately clean and well-cared for and the decor is warm, relaxing and inviting! A car is a must, as there are so many extraordinary beaches and essential amenities nearby, but beyond walking distance. I have already recommended this property to friends and we look forward to returning as soon as the next opportunity arises!!! Thank you, Paul...our stay was enjoyable in every way possible!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The condo was well equipped with up-to-date equipment and services. All facilities and appliances were first class. The cleanliness of the whole property was excellent. A bonus was the snorkelling and cycling equipment that was available for tenants. A special feature was the log book of previous visitors who documented activities, local attractions and restaurants. The pool was within two minutes walking distance. Best of all was the Lanai. Morning coffee/tea there was a treat. Evening cocktails were very special too. Altogether, it was a wonderful home away from home

When you rent accommodation based only on photographs and information on a web site, you're never really sure what it will be like when you actually get there. However, when we opened the door on this beautiful unit we knew we had made the right decision -- the condo was everything we'd hoped for and more! It has everything necessary for a comfortable relaxing vacation, including beach chairs and towels, bikes, and snorkelling gear – as well as its own double car garage! The unit is air conditioned, extremely well maintained, beautifully furnished, and the fully equipped gourmet kitchen and dining area have all you will need to prepare or eat meals and snacks. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the lanai reading and enjoying the beautiful weather and the condo is conveniently located close to the beautiful swimming pool/hot tub/barbeque complex. Morning walks to Princeville Center, the St. Regis Hotel, the Westin Resort and other local points of interest were very enjoyable. Any of the beaches, shopping and other tourist attractions on Kauai are easily accessible by car – the village of Hanalei Bay is less than 15 minutes from the condo and has shopping, a spectacular beach and beautiful views of Bali Hai. Paul and Barb were easy to deal with in making arrangements for the rental and their suggestions on things to do and where to go on the island were invaluable. It was especially thoughtful to receive a phone call from them on our first day in the unit just to make sure we arrived safely and everything was okay. This is our second vacation on Kauai – the first on the North Shore – and we would very much recommend this unit to anyone looking for premier accommodation on Kauai.

Photographer's Paradise

What a great holiday we had in Kaua’i. A photographer’s paradise to say the least. The condo had everything we could possibly need for outdoor pursuits and recreation. The fully equipped kitchen, luxurious furnishings and thoughtful details helped make our vacation really wonderful. Even a local bird book was available for our use. We loved eating outside on the spacious lanai where we enjoyed visits from many tropical bird species. We also used the pool barbeque for cooking steaks and chatting with other residents and visitors. We will be back to Kaua’I as the abundance of outdoor activities is limitless – something for everyone here. We hope this beautiful condo is available on our next visit! Aloha Kauai!
January 2011 (Calgary, Alta)

My husband, our 2 year old son and I stayed at this beautiful condo for a week in January. We have visited Kauai numerous times but had never stayed on the north shore so though we would try it out. The Nihilani resort is located conveniently to all the north shore beaches, attractions and of course, Hanalei Bay. It has a great pool and bar-b-que area which is only a short walk from the condo. We were surprised to see how spacious and well appointed the condo is and really felt that the photos do not do it justice. There is much attention paid to the interior details from the kitchen accessories to the childrens’ DVDs supplied as well as the outdoor details such as beach toys for both children and adults. We highly recommend this luxury condo if you are looking for the perfect vacation home. Corinne, Glen and Harrison

Very Comfortable and Upscale Property
Guest: Rob(Ottawa, Canada)
February 2011

As this was our second visit to Kauai, we were familiar with the Northshore and decided to choose a location in Princeville. This condo was within 5 minutes of the local grocery store, and about 10 minutes to Hanalei (a local tourist town with many shops, boutiques and restaurants). This modernly finished home had 2 bedrooms each with a adjoining full bathroom. The full kitchen, dining area and living room had the most up to date and quality amenities. Everything was immaculate. We used the bikes to go for a ride around Princeville and the beachgear and snorkelling equipment for some day excursions. A number of beaches are located withing 15 minutes of this property. If you are a hiker, there are a half dozen or so trails within 45 minutes. One of our favorite things to do is see the sunset at Kee beach, which is at the end of closeby coastal road, a very scenic drive. The condo was very clean and well stocked upon arrival. There was a double garage to park in so there was no worry about your car rental or its contents. We would recommend this home to those who want to treat themselves to a little something extra. Paul was very easy to deal with, he even checked in with us to see that everything was satisfactory. Mahalo

"A friend and I had the great fortune to choose Kauai for our summer vacation, and to select Paul and Barb's condo for our time on the island. Our first words when stumbling in the door after a long day of travel were, "WOW! Really?!". The condo was immaculate and incredibly well furnished and appointed. Every need and most wants have been anticipated, and we would not have had to leave the unit if we hadn't been so enchanted with Kauai and its lush beauty. The Nihilani is a peaceful and beautiful development, and the placement of the unit in the complex couldn't be more perfect. It is a very short drive from the condo to the best of the north shore beaches and sights, and the village of Hanalei Bay. I couldn't imagine having stayed anywhere else, or having found another unit that would have made our vacation on Kauai more magical. Thank you, Paul and Barb!"

Thanks again,

Misty (and Marika too)

Nihilani, a jewel. My husband and I arrived on Kauai, Feb. 6, 2010, for a month of fun, sun and beach. Excited to experience Hawaii where we had not been before. The arrival in Princeville and the drive into our condo complex at Nihilani set the stage for the rest of our holiday. Spectacular scenery on the drive from the airport, easy access and nice setting at the entrance to Nihilani but we were so happy when we opened the door and saw the fabulous condo we would be staying in for the next month. Living room and kitchen first, they were nicely decorated with a tropical feel, kitchen well appointed with good quality furniture, TV, sound system and appliances and plenty of dishes. The main bedroom and ensuite is spacious and so very comfortable, second bedroom which is totally separate, with it's own bathroom, each room with high quality linens and towels, which made our stay with two friends who joined us, very easy. Having a garage to drive into each day was especially nice and hanging along the walls were all that we needed for our beach days, chairs and snorkel equipment and for those with children a chest full of fun stuff to keep them happy in the sand.

Location, Location and Nihilani has that . We were close to so many beautiful beaches accessed by walking and with wonderful names like, Secret Beach. Barb and Paul have a Library of good books and maps to help you get oriented right away. Short drives to many other beaches that offered boogie boarding, snorkeling and all very quiet that you felt as if you were on your own private beach. Zip-lining, hiking at all levels, kayaking and horseback riding all close by. Our busy days ended with happy hour either on our nicely furnished Lanai, or at the pool for a swim and hot tub. Pool area equipped with great BBQ and cooking facilities. It is all there and we recommend Unit 1A as an excellent place to stay.

Thanks Barb and Paul for a great holiday. Greer and Andy

“From the minute we stepped into this unit we knew we would have an extraordinary vacation experience! Everything we possibly needed was here and ready for us to use. The rooms wee clean and comfortable, the decor tasteful and festive. Even if we had just stayed in the unit we would have had a spectacular vacation! Being situated right next to the fabulous pool and jacuzzi was wonderful. And we spent many a meals out on the lanai enjoying the exotic plants and soothing ocean breezes. The TVs were something we really loved, especially when viewing the Beijing Olympics. Also, the bikes and boogie boards added to our fun. Out of all the rentals we have stayed in in Hawaii, this unit at Nihilani was are favorite! Thank you for making our time here a both restful and exciting experience!”

Dear Paul & Barb:
“We just got back from a 15 day stay at your fabulous condo in Princeville.  In all of our 13 trips to Kauai we have never stayed in such a beautiful, spacious and well-appointed condo. The large 2-car garage was an unexpected bonus. Your place has just about anything a person on vacation could want. Thank you, again, for sharing your little bit of paradise with us.”

Thanks for the loan of your Island Paradise home - Cathy and I had a truly wonderful time. Your ultimate Kauai guest book was brilliant and allowed us to explore from Ke'e Beach to the Pu'u o kila lookout and everything in between. The Queens bath and Hideaways Beach were sights not to be missed here in Princeville and the waves crashing on the cliffs at Kilauea light house were awesome. We certainly saw a lot during our stay,But as our time went by we enjoyed it more and more.
Mahalo and Aloha,
Cathy and Richard Redfern
